Announcing the next edition of the Blues Aperitiv competition for new talents

From all the entries, the jury will select seven runners-up who will perform live at the final evening on Saturday 15 April 2023 at the House of Culture in Šumperk. The finalists will present themselves to an international jury of five experts and an experienced audience. The international dimension of the competition is now emphasised by the presence of a representative of the umbrella organisation European Blues Union on the jury.

Two winners will advance from the final evening to the Blues Alive 2023 in November. The performer who receives the most votes from the audience will also get the chance to go to the festival. Other performers who impress the jury at the Blues Aperitiv showcase may also be invited to play on the side stages of Blues Alive, other Czech festivals or shows in Poland.

Conditions for inclusion in the selection:

If you are interested in taking part in the Blues Aperitiv competition showcase and (in case you qualify), in the international Blues Alive festival, please send your application to aperitiv@bluesalive.cz.
— The deadline for applications is 1 March 2023.
— The application must include the name of the ensemble, names of musicians and instruments they play, technical requirements, www, a current print-quality photograph, a brief profile of the performer, and two reliable phone and email contacts for members of the ensemble.
— For basic selection, digital recordings of the ensemble are required. A minimum of three tracks in mp3 format, or a link to a digital player (Bandcamp or YouTube type, but not streaming platforms such as Spotify, Deezer, etc.), should be sent with the application. Do not send CDs or other hard music media.
— Artists who have attended Blues Aperitiv in the past are welcome to apply.
